Choosing Your Doodle
Temperament, size, appearance and finding the right individual fit.
Can any of your puppies become service or therapy dogs?
Many can, but not every puppy is suited for that role. Through temperament assessments, careful observation, and getting to know each puppy individually, Dorenlee helps identify those with the greatest potential.
Can I request a specific colour or markings?
Yes. Colour and marking preferences can be noted and accommodated whenever possible, but temperament, confidence, personality, and fit are always the first priority.
How big will my puppy be?
Dorenlee can usually provide a strong estimate based on the parents and previous litters, but no breeder can guarantee an exact adult weight or height.
How do you match puppies with families?
Dorenlee spends eight weeks getting to know each puppy through daily interaction, temperament observations, puppy assessments, and conversations with your family.
Reservations & Timing
Waitlists, visits, availability and what happens when the timing is not right.
How long is the wait for a puppy?
Wait time depends on your place on the reservation list and your preferences for breed, size, colour, gender, and temperament.
Can we visit the puppies?
Yes. Visits are by appointment so each family receives time and attention, and so visits happen at appropriate stages of puppy development.
What if I do not find the right puppy?
If an available puppy is not the right fit, the reservation deposit can be transferred to another upcoming litter or refunded according to the reservation policy.
Why do you not always have puppies available?
Dorenlee intentionally raises only a limited number of litters each year so every puppy receives time, attention, and individualized care.
Health & Everyday Care
Coats, grooming, food, other pets and the written health guarantee.
Are Dorenlee Darling Doodles hypoallergenic?
No dog is completely hypoallergenic. Dorenlee Darling Doodles are intentionally bred for low-shedding coats that are often well tolerated by individuals with allergies, but every person and every dog's coat is unique.
Will my puppy get along with our other pets?
Most puppies adapt very well to homes with other dogs and many household pets. Introductions should still be done thoughtfully.
How often will my puppy need haircuts?
Grooming depends on the look you want to maintain. Many families schedule professional grooming about every three months for a longer doodle coat, while shorter coats may need less frequent grooming.
What food will my puppy be eating?
Your puppy goes home eating the food they have been thriving on while in Dorenlee's care, with enough food and recommendations to make the transition gradual.
Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes. Every Dorenlee Darling Doodles puppy goes home with a written Genetic Health Guarantee.
Going Home & Support
Your puppy package, extended stays and the lifetime Dorenlee relationship.
What comes home with my puppy?
Every puppy goes home with a package that includes food for transition, a training bell, a training ball and toys, one week of pet insurance, veterinary health records, feeding recommendations, and helpful training resources.
Can you hold my puppy longer?
Whenever possible, Dorenlee offers boarding and optional continued training for a daily fee. Space is limited, so families should discuss needs early.
Do you ever rehome your adult dogs?
Occasionally. When a different home is the best next season for a dog, Dorenlee carefully selects families who will love and appreciate them.
What makes Dorenlee Darling Doodles different?
Every part of the program is intentional, from selecting breeding dogs to early neurological stimulation, socialization, temperament assessments, Individual Puppy Plans, and the Five-Stage Puppy Program.
